Thomas the Elf Day 4

oh the weather inside is frightful,
but the milk is so delightful!

 

This Morning Thomas the Elf Made Chocolate Milk for Jacob,
only at first Jacob thought Thomas
stole the whole bottle of Chocolate and was LIVID!!!
It took me a while to calm him down.
I actually had to pore him a cup for him
to taste before he believed me, after that he thanked
Thomas and had 3 more cups silly boy.

  This Morning Thomas is sporting a new Green Felt Scarf.
I guess Santa thought it may get cold in the fridge all day.

Thomas the Elf Day 3

Yesterday we had a small mishap with our Elf Thomas

Turns out the was TOUCHED by some little fingers
He was pretty Upset

After Delivering the bad news to Santa
He decided to stay away from naughty little girls

I guess He figured that hanging from Jacob's
Fan was safe enough!

Our Backdrop was Wrapping paper taped to the wall
(in the future I will try fabric to cut out the glare)
We stood on our tree skirt

and Were wrapped in Christmas lights
Overall I am happy with the results

Our Elf adventure

This year we decided to start the "Elf on a Shelf" Tradition with our family. 

We are Quite excited to see where "Thomas" our Elf ends up each morning.

Today is day 2 of the elf adventure and so far he as been 

And Building an Elf present FORT!!!

It's and Office Suppy Christmas

This week at work is slow and I decided that the office could be a bit more festive.

I took it upon myself to liven the place up a bit.

First I made some newspaper poinsettia inspired by  THIS blog.

AND here are the results

Then I figures we needed a Christmas tree

I made this inspired by Martha Stewart
With a few of my own touches

In place of glitter I use the punches from our Printing plates
(I work at a print shop/newspaper)
I also Created a Paper star for the topper

And used the above paper poinsettias for the tree skirt

I am quite pleased with the over all finished product

Painting!!!!

I posted about my painting inspiration now for the finished product!

I actually remembered to take pics along the way.
I plan to post more pics when I get it hung in the living room
ENJOY!!

Step 1
I first drew out a random tree pattern that looked pleasing with a pencil.
Last I went over the entire pattern with Elmers Glue

Step 2
Color block painted my panels while they were touching
Using a lighter color toward the middle

Step 3
Added White texture to middle of all panels then over painted where the glue is

Step 4
Overprinted all the glued areas with the reverse colors

Final Product
Varnished The entire painting with a gloss medium

Details on the owls
in my case they represent my kids

Jacob and I decided that it would be fun to do an off the cuff photo shoot on the back patio last night.
I have been seeing all these fabulous ideas for photos with CHALK and decided to take a stab at it, the results were fabulous! I plan to make this into a planned shoot very soon.

Fairy Party!!!

Better Late than never right???
I never knew having two kids,
a full time job,
AND

several Hobbies would take up so MUCH time.

But I would not trade it for the world!!!

FAIRY PARTY 2011

 

The party prep was not so bad BUT the FOOD PREP

I will NEVER as long as I LIVE make all that again
It was just not worth it all.

And those blasted Cake Pops that LOOK so
EASY online they are NOT
I guess those people must be super Human or something
But obviously I am not. No joke I was about
2 seconds form taking my tried butt
right down to the local super market
and getting WHATEVER they had out on the counter
and that is SO not me.

All the rest of the party prep 

was pretty much a breeze and
I was totally happy with the results

And the Birthday Fairy herself

A bit of COLOR Monday

Its the simple things that make my day better today's is a tin bucket from the Target $1 bin.

I am using it as a pen holder. I little bit of color goes a LONG way.

Party Countdown!! - 3 days till PARTY!!!

Last nights craft was CROWNS.
For all the little Lords and Ladies. 

We are going to have a
MAKE YOU OWN CROWN
station at the party with
Crayons, stickers and such.

Last night I completed the Cut outs
all 20 of them!!

Then I set out to create whats going to be
MY CROWN or the EXAMPLE.

I think good even if I look like a
DORK with it on

Party Countdown!! - 5 days till PARTY

With only five days left till the party I am really cracking down on the crafts
that I still have to put together. 

The first item to cross off my list was the Fairy Costume. 

This was made in the intention of being like the Fairy drawing that I did of her for the invitation.

I think it came out pretty darn GOOD.

I made it using "Found" items around the house.

To Do List . . .

I have a giant TO DO list for my upcoming Fairy party that is now less than a month away.


Today I crossed off a coupe of things:

Art for invitation - Check
    (Nicole as a fairy)

Invitation Wording - Check
Crown Template - Check

There are still several things left to the list but I finally feel like I got something accomplished.

Hopefully in the next week I can get all the decorations printed out and in order.

I still need giant fairy wings and number 4's to put up everywhere, Plus food name tags.

Photo Time

This past weekend I had the privileged of doing something that I absolutely LOVE, an on location photo shoot with my two favorite boys.

Being a busy mom that works 40+ hours a week doesn't leave much time for photography, so I jump at the chance when one of my closest friends asks when I am free for a shoot. Since not allot of people ask and I don't advertise its a rare FUN occasion. I would love to be able to QUIT my day job and live on art but that's not reality in this economy.

I HOPE ya'll enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them.
